Prayer Thot for the Day (Jan 30)

God Offers Rest & Refuge

Backgrounder on Psalms 60-66:
In this segment, we read five
psalms of lament (P60, 61, 63-65;
watch for the cry: O God) in which
the psalmist stands upon the
promises of God in the face of
defeat, discouragement & deceit.
Thro it all the psalmist finds that
God is a praiseworthy refuge(62,66

Lord, we Come & Wait Upon You:
I Wait Quietly before God,
for my victory comes from Him.
He alone is my rock and my
salvation, my fortress where
I will never be shaken (Ps 62:1-2)
My Refuge is in God. Trust in Him
at all times, You people; pour
out your heart before Him;
God is a Refuge For us (v7-8).

Lord, I lift my eyes up to you,
the Sovereign Almighty God and
my rock, my salvation, my fortress
and my refuge. Quieten my heart
to Wait on you for my hope is in U.
Let my confidence not be shaken
by what my heart may feel,
circumstances may say or
my mind may think. I thank you
that my confidence rests on the
One who is my rock and that
You will never be shaken. Amen.

Lord, I want to Trade my heavy
burden for the lighter load that
You offer. If I am exhausted,
may be it’s because I am Not
Wearing your yoke. Show me how
and where I am carrying burdens
you did not intend me to bear.
And lead me to Come to You and
Cast my cares over to You. Amen.

Lord Jesus, I receive your Promise
of Rest for my soul for you have
said: Come to me all who are weary
and heavy laden, and I will give u
Rest. Teach me how to Rest in You
and everything You have available
to me. Show me where I am
struggling and missing the soul
Sabbath you have for me, living in
deep stillness, surrender & total
trust in your finished work. Amen.
