Praying thro book of Job (Apr 22)

Friends, The salient objective of
the weekend prayers is to spur u
to love & trust the Lord as well as
to enable u to understand God’s
Word better by knowing the
Context & how the Mega Theme
develops thro the book of Bible.

Since beginning of the year, we
meditated on the first 5 books of
Bible where God unfolds his plan
for creation, the way to holy living
and the Need of Obedience to
God; as well as Mark gospel
which portrays Jesus as the
Obedient Servant and Matthew
gospel which portrays Jesus
as the prophesied king. Next, we
will revert to Old Testament again
to meditate on the book of Job.

The book of Job addresses the
question of man’s suffering and
so examines one of life’s most
perplexing questions. Overnight
Job finds his blessings turned
into heartaches as he loses his
health, wealth, family and status
in a crushing series of tragedies.
Seeking to know why, Job soon
find the wisdom of four human
counsellors inadequate. Finally,
Job questions God Himself and
learns valuable lessons on the
sovereignty of God and the need
for complete trust in the Lord.

We’ll cover Job over 2 weekends:
J1-3: Job Is Tested
J4-32: Three Friends Answer Job
J33-37: Young Man Answers Job
J38-42: God Answers Job.
