Praying thro Deuteronomy (Mar 18)

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
For past 8 weekends, we’ve been
meditating on first 4 books of Bible
Genesis unfolds God’s plan for his
creation, where salvation comes by
faith & he is faithful to his promises
Exodus is the book of redemption
from bondage to Pharaoh into
a covenant relationship with God.
Holiness is an integral part of
the nature of God and Leviticus
teaches how to live as holy people.
Numbers teaches God disciplines
for our good & patiently waits to
reward those who obey his word.

Continuing, we’ll meditate over
two weekends on Deuteronomy.
Composed mainly of three orations
by Moses, Deut (which means
second law) is a review of the law
given in Exodus. Here Moses
recounts God’s past dealings with
His people and prepares the nation
for its arrival in the Promised Land.
In Deuteronomy, Moses stresses
holiness as a way of life & reminds
the people of the necessity of
obedience to God in every action.
Whether possessing the land,
defeating the enemy or simply
enjoying life in a new homeland,
God’s pple must exhibit complete
obedience to His commands.

We’ll cover Deut over 4 parts:-
D1-4: Moses First Address
on What God Has Done.
N5-26: Moses Second Address
on Principles for Godly Living
N27-30: Moses Third Address
on Call for Commitment to God
N31-34: Moses Last Days
& the Change in Leadership
