Praying thro Jeremiah (Jan 27)

Message of Return & Restoration
(Prayer Walk thro Jeremiah 21-29)

Backgrounder: Time is running out
for Judah with a growing sense
of doom. Even that cannot deter
Jeremiah from His task: declaring
God’s displeasure with their sins &
conduct. Moving from the nation
in general to the nation’s leaders
in particular, Jeremiah singles out
three kings for judgment before
turning his attention to the Messiah
who will Restore righteousness and
justice. The nation will lie desolate
for 70 years when the wrath of God
is poured out on His wayward flock.

Dear Lord, you are holy and
you do urge your people to turn
from their sins, to Return to You
and may discipline; but you are
also good and will Restore them.
Help us Hear Your Voice & truth;
help us Return Wholeheartedly &
help us Seek You for we know
You have Good Plans for us. Amen

Lord, we will Hear Your Voice:
My heart is broken because of
the false prophets… For the land
is full of adultery… For they do evil
and abuse what power they have…
Do not listen to them, filling you
with futile hopes (Jer 23:9-10, 16)
He who has My word, let him
speak My word faithfully… Is not
My word like a fire? says the Lord,
and like a hammer that breaks
the rock in pieces (Jer 23:28-29).
Lord, help me to hear Your voice
speaking to my heart, though I
know the truth may hurt. Give me
discernment so that I can identify
what is from You and what is not.
Help me to examine what I hear
against the tracking of Your Word.
Holy Spirit, guide me in all truth
just as You have promised. Amen.

Lord, we’ll Return Wholeheartedly:
Thus says the Lord: Like these
good figs, so will I acknowledge
those who are carried away captive
from Judah, whom I have sent
out of this place for their own good,
into the land of the Chaldeans.
For I will set My eyes on them
for good, and I will bring them
back to this land; I will build them
and not pull them down… Then
I will give them a heart to know Me,
that I am the Lord; and they shall
be My people and I will be their
God, for they shall Return to Me
with their whole heart (Jer 24:5-7)
Lord, give me a heart that recognise
who U are, not just on the surface
but in deeply personal ways. I want
You to be fully satisfied with my
love for You and for me to be fully
satisfied in Your love for me. Amen.

Lord, we purpose to Seek You:
After 70 years at Babylon, I will
cause you to return to this place.
For I know the plans I have for you,
says the Lord. They are plans
for good and not for disaster;
to give you a future and a hope.
Then you will call upon me & I will
listen to you. And you will seek Me
and find me, when you search for
me with all your heart (J29:10-13)
Lord, thank You that U have planned
a future and a hope for my life.
Because of your power and your
faithfulness, I know that nothing
in my life is outside your control.
May my hope be firmly grounded
in your unchanging character.
Help me to fully and willingly
submit to your will for my future.
And draw me to seek U earnestly
and to pray wholeheartedly. Amen

Dear Lord, thank you that You Are
Good for though you discipline or
test your people U will also restore.
Help us hear Your voice though
we realise the truth may hurt us.
Lead us to Return to You when
we sin and grant us a heart that
desires to know and please you.
Draw us to Seek You earnestly and
submit to your will for our future.
For You are a Good God & You have
good plans for each of us: to give
us a future and a hope. Amen.
