Call Towards Godliness
(Prayer Walk thro Isaiah 28-39:
Backgrounder: Isaiah’s prophecies
begin to focus on the ominous
approach of the Assyrian armies.
True, the prospects are not
pleasant for the rebellious people
of God. But there is also a coming
King who will bring peace like
a river, freedom for the captives,
justice for the oppressed and
judgment upon the earth.
Dear Lord, we note your message
through prophet Isaiah to Judah
that they had a form of godliness
but their hearts were corrupt.
Lord, we Give You our Hearts;
we will Wait upon You; and
we will Seek Your Direction. Amen
Lord, we Give You our Hearts:
These people say they are mine.
They honor me with their lips but
their hearts are far away. And their
worship of me amounts to nothing
more than human laws learned by
rote. Because of these, I will do
wonders among these hypocrites.
I will show that human wisdom
is foolish. Destruction is certain
for those who try to hide their
plans from the Lord (Isa 29:13-15).
Lord, we learnt the Jews claimed
to be close to You God but they
were disobedient and merely went
through the motions. And we are
all well capable of hypocrisy too.
Often we slip into routine when
we worship and neglect to give
You God our love and devotion.
We purpose as God’s people
to be obedient, involve you and
worship you sincerely. Amen.
Lord, we will Wait upon You:
The Sovereign Lord says: Only
in returning to me and waiting
for me will u be saved. In quietness
is your strength. But u would not..
The Lord must wait for u to come
to Him so He can show you His love
and compassion. For the Lord is
a faithful God. Blessed are those
who wait for His help (Isa 30:15-18)
Lord, thank you for always
calling me to return to you.
My desire is to walk with you; but
sometimes I become distant fr U.
Even then, I know that you haven’t
distanced yourself from me.
And You are ever waiting for me
to return & find rest in You. Thank
U for your lovingkindness. Amen.
Lord, we will Seek Your Direction:
O people of Zion… you will weep
no more. He will be gracious if
you ask for help. He will respond
instantly to the sound of your cries.
Tho the Lord gave you adversity
for food and affliction for drink,
He will still be with you to teach u.
U will see your teacher with your
own eyes. Whether you turn to the
right or to the left, Yr ears will hear
a voice behind you saying: This is
the way, walk in it (Isa 30:19-21).
Lord, reveal to me Your will for
my life so that I can walk in it.
For Your will is a place of safey
and I need to know that I am
heading in the right direction.
Help me hear Your voice telling me
what to do,especially the decisions
I need to make each day. Amen.
Dear Lord, we note your warning
of just having a form of godliness.
We’ll Return to U & Wait upona U.
We’ll Seek Your Will & Direction.
We give you our devotion
and we Give You our Hearts.
