Gospel Truth in Matt 7 (Oct 30)

Don’t Be Judgmental

Jesus claimed to be the Messiah,
the King of the Jews. And you
will read in Matt 5-7 the Sermon
of the Mount, where He presents
His statement of heaven (Mt 5:3,10)
Relationship to God (not simply
adherence to ritual) and inward
attitude (not merely outward action)
become focus of Christ’s message
for a lifestyle of righteousness.

Lord, help us Not Be Judgmental:
Do not judge others and you will
not be judged…Why worry about
a speck in your friend’s eye
when you have a log in your own?
First get rid of the log in your
own eye; then you will see well
enough to deal with the speck
in your friend’s eye (Matt 7:1-5)
Jesus said: Keep on asking, and
you will be given what u ask for…
If you bring evil know how to give
good gifts to your children, how
much more will your Father who
is in heaven give good things to
those who ask Him (Matt 7:7-11).

Lord, You say that we are not to
take Your place in judging others;
for that judgment will be turned
back on us. I pray for discerning
spirit, one that is able to see
sin for what it is and deal with it
honestly and lovingly while not
being critical and judgmental.
Help me Lord for apart from You,
I can’t do it. In Jesus’ name,Amen

Lord, we realise we tend to judge
others much more harshly than
we judge ourselves. So help me
be as sensitive in dealing with
others’ faults as I would wish
them to be with me. Help me
to take a stand against sin and
yet without being judgmental.
In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.

Lord, thank you for your promise
that those who ask receive and
that when we seek, we will find.
Grant me the grace to persevere,
to keep on asking till the answer
comes. Thank you for the power
of your Spirit, who gives me the
strength to persevere in prayer
even when I am at our weakest
moment & ready to give up.Amen

Lord, even as we purpose to live
a Kingdom Lifestyle, help us to
Adopt Kingdom Perspectives
by the power of the Holy Spirit;
and let our light shine for Jesus;
Be Forgiving to people who have
wronged me even as forgive me;
Not to Worry but seek first your
kingdom, knowing u care for us;
Not be Judgmental but sensitive
in dealing with others’ faults; and
Persevere Asking in Faith even
when we feel like giving up. Amen
