Thanksgiving In Mark 11 (Mar 22)

Thank God for Honouring Faith

The final week of Jesus’ earthly
life dawns – that period of time
which occupies more space in
the gospels than any other stage
of Jesus’ ministry. His arrival in
Jerusalem coincides with preparatn
for the Feast of Passover. Though
events move quickly, Jesus is not
hurried. There is time to clean
out the temple, watch the widow
contributes her two mites and give
final instructions to the disciples.

Lord, grant us Unshakable Faith:
As they passed by, they saw the
fig tree dried up from the roots…
Jesus said: Have Faith in God.
For assuredly I say to you, whoever
says to this mountain: Be removed
and does not doubt in his heart,
but Believes that those things
he says will be done, he will have
Whatever he says. Therefore I say
to you, Whatever things you ask
when you pray, Believe that you
receive them and you will have
them. (Mark 11:21-24). Amen.

Lord, Your promise of delivering
Whatever we ask really amaze us.
But we ultimately realise that
when we make request to You,
we must do so with a genuine
belief that God is capable of
accomplishing what we ask
– that’s faith. We may not get
the new car we are hoping for,
but we can confidently approach
You God with our needs and
believe that You can provide. Amen

Lord, we can certainly do things
to persuade our hearts to Believe:
by dwelling on Your promises and
remembering Your past works.
But ultimately, Faith is a Gift of God
and we get it from the work of
the Holy Spirit within us. Lord,
I need faith for mine is weak and
wavering at times but I do believe.
Help my unbelief and remove
my doubts. Give me the faith that
comes from Your Spirit, as I dwell
in Your presence each day. Amen.

Father God, I come to You with
my need and claiming Mark 11:24.
I trust that this desire and need
is within Your will for You have
used Your servant prophets and
confirmed with signs of promise.
Trust I’m asking You in faith that
You reward those that diligently
seek You; for it’s been such a long
time that I have been asking You.
I know that in Your sovereignty,
You do things Your way & Yr time.
But Father God, I plead for Your
mercy to grant me Your favor and
favour of men as soon as possible.
In Jesus’ precious name, Amen.

Thk God for Being With Us Always

The events in the final two days of
Jesus’ earthly life carry shadows of
the cross: the anointing in Bethany,
the Passover Observance, Lord’s
Supper, the prayer in Gethsemane.
Jesus is arrested, tried, condemned
executed and placed in a tomb. But
in triumph, Jesus comes forth from
the grave in resurrection power.
The Kings of the Jews Lives again,
a message which His followers
are commissioned to share.

Lord, You are Always With Us:
Then the eleven disciples went
into Galilee, to the mountain which
Jesus had appointed for them…
And Jesus came to them and said:
All authority has been given to Me..
Go and make disciples of all the
nations… teaching them to obey
everything I have commanded u;
and lo I am With you Always,
even to the end of the age
(Matthew 28:16-20). Amen.

Lord, there is no doubt about
the task You had left for us to do.
Help me step out of comfort zone
to find people who need to know U.
Help me witness to the people You
hv placed in my sphere of influence
Help me in my concern for the lost,
in words, deeds and attitudes.
Help me reflect as one who
has found the answer to life.
And Thank You for the promise
of Your abiding presence. Amen.

Lord Jesus, You promise your
followers that You Will Be With
them Always. Though busyness
and activities often disconnect
me from others, it will never
separate me from You. Your
promise is reliable in a world
where most promises are not.
Thank You Lord for the permanent
nature of Your promise. Amen.

Lord, Thank You for being With me
always in accordance to Your Word.
Let me not to be too busy and
bogged down in the details of life
without consciously thinking of U.
Grant me sanctified imagination of
You next to me, encouraging me.
Help me See You more clearly,
Hear You more certainly, and
Trust You more fully each day.
In Jesus’ precious name, Amen.

Thanksgiving In Matt 11 (Mar 20)

Thank God for Providing Rest

Matthew shared ten miraclens in
Mt 8-11 to show Jesus’ power over
disease, nature & the spirit world.
Christ then bestows that same
power and authority on His chosen
apostles and sends them out
as ambassadors of the kingdom.
He first instructs them how to act,
then warns them of the dangers
they will face, as he calls them
to committed discipleship.

Lord, we receive Your Rest:
Jesus said: Come To Me, all of you
who are weary and carry heavy
burdens, and I will give you Rest.
Take my yoke upon you.
Let me teach you, because I am
Humble & Gentle at heart, and
you will Find Rest for your souls.
For my yoke is easy to bear, and
the burdens I give you is light
(Matt 11:28-30). Amen.

Lord Jesus, what a matchless
promise that You as King of kings
and Lord of lords will help us to
Carry Our Burdens. In Your infinite
care You carried the burden of
our sin on yourself on the cross.
We thank you and praise you for
Your great compassion. Grant my
lips sing your praises forever, Amen

Lord, thank You for Your offer
to carry my burdens for me.
I give them all to You and gladly
receive Your Rest that you give.
I place myself Under Your Yoke
to learn from You. Teach me
Your wisdom and help me to walk
in the ways You set before me.
Thank You for Your mercy and
love that invite me to live my life
Resting and trusting in You. Amen.

Lord Jesus, You promise that
those who are Humble will be
the greatest in your kingdom.
Help me to be Humble like U that
will also be a delight to others.
And help me to accomplish
great things for your kingdom.
Lord, thank you for dealing with
your people Gently, even though
you are sovereign and supreme.
Help me be a person of principle
& strong faith, & yet Gentle. Amen

Thanksgiving In Matt 7 (Mar 19)

Thank God for Rewarding Seekers

Jesus claimed to be the Messiah,
the king of the Jews. And Matthew
5 to 7 traditionally called the
Sermon on the Mount, essentially
presents His statement of heaven.
And the focus of His message
is our Relationship to God and
our inward attitude towards Him.

Lord, we will Ask, Seek & Knock:
Ask and it will be given to you;
seek and you will find; knock and
the door will be opened to you.
For everyone who asks receives;
he who seeks finds; and to him
who knocks, the door will be
opened (Matt 7:7-8). If you then,
being evil, know how to give
good gifts to your children, how
much more will your Father who
is in heaven give good things to
those who Ask Him (v11). Amen.

Lord Jesus, I come to You in faith,
believing You are God, and that
You reward those who diligently
Seek You. Your Word says You
desire to give good gifts to those
who Ask for them. I Ask that the
desires of my heart be aligned
with Your will so that they will
come to pass. And I Knock on the door of opportunity & anticipate        it being opened by You. Amen.

Lord, thank You for Your promise
that those who ask receive and
that when we seek, we will find.
Grant me the grace to Persevere,
to Keep On Asking, seeking and
knocking until the answer comes.
Thank you for the power & grace
of Your Spirit, who gives me the
strength to Persevere In Prayer
even when I am at my weakest
moment & felt like giving up. Amen.

Lord, the Bible tells us that it is
impossible to please You without
Faith. All our doing will be nothing
incl keeping rules & serving others,
if we do not have Faith in You, and
we cannot please You at all. Lord,
we Believe in Your Goodness; and
we come to You, believing not only
You exist but also believing You
Will Reward those who seek You.
In Jesus’ precious name, Amen.

Thanksgiving In Matt 6 (Mar 18)

Thank God for Providing Needs

Jesus claimed to be the Messiah,
the king of the Jews. And Matthew
5 to 7 traditionally called the
Sermon on the Mount, essentially
presents His statement of heaven.
Relationship to God (rather than
adherence to ritual) and inward
attitude (not outward action)
become the focus of His message.

Lord,You’ll Take Care of Our Needs:
Do not worry saying: What Shall
We Eat..or What shall we wear? For
the pagans run after these things
and Your Heavenly Father knows
that you need them. But Seek
First the Kingdom of God and
His righteousness, and all these
things will be given to you as well.
Therefore Do Not Worry about
tomorrow (Matt 6:31-34). Amen.

<!–more–>

Lord, your Word promises that
we don’t need to worry about
our basic needs for You God will
provide them. And we can live
cheerfully day-to-day when we
keep Yr kingdom as key concern.
Lord, I confess to sometime worry
over issues beyond my control.
Give me the right perspective.
Help me see the difference
between needs and wants.
And do transform my life. Amen.

Lord, You are all-knowing and
therefore You know all our needs.
Praise You for knowing everything
about me and every detail of my
situation. For nothing surprises U.
Thank You for caring so much
and being so good. Help me to
always seek You first, trust Your
gracious promise and keep from
worrying about the future. Amen.

Lord, Thank You for providing
for my every need. Thank You
that I don’t have to spend my
days consumed with worry; but
I can be consumed with You and
Your kingdom. No need enters
my life for which You have not
already planned and provided.
I choose to Keep anxiety from
cluttering my heart, and instead
let it be filled with You. Amen.

Praying thro Exo 32-40 (Mar 17)

God Calls for True Worship

Whilst Moses receives God’s laws
on the mountain, the Israelites
are busy on the plains below.
Concluding that their leaders has
died in the presence of God, they
fashion their gold jewelry into a
replica of an Egyptian God and
turn the camp into a pagan party.
Moses returns and in righteous
anger shatters the 2 stone tablets,
destroys the golden calf and orders
Levites to purge guilty Israelites.
The book of Exodus closes with
the record of how the tabernacle
& priestly garments are completed
exactly as God instructed. Moses
inspects the finished product and
Aaron and his sons are anointed
for service. Finally, God declares
His satisfaction by filling the tent
with His glory. For the next 480 yrs
the tabernacle will remain the
focal point of the nation’s worship.

Praying thro Exo 25-31 (Mar 16)

God’s Instruction for Worship

Moses receives from God detailed
blueprint of the tabernacle which
would be Israel’s place of worship.
In minute detail Moses learns about
the furnishing, covering, curtains
and courtyard; from the inside out;
reflecting not the perspective of
man looking in, but of God looking
out.For true religion originates from
a holy God. Then Moses goes on to
detail the priests, everything about
them is special, from the clothing
they wear to elaborate rituals they
perform in leading the worship
of the nation. Both they and the
implements of worship they use
require special purification befitting
those in service of a holy God.

Lord, we learn from Exodus that
You hear the cries of Your people
and deliver in Your way and time.
From the giving of the law to help
Israelites live rightly as well as
construction of the Tabernacle
and preparation of the priests,
we recognise, You are a holy God.
Help us to trust You & wait upon U.
Help us to be holy even as You are.
Lord, we will Worship You Alone;
we will Offer U incense of Prayer &
we will Offer Skills for Your glory.
In Jesus’ precious name, Amen.

Lord, we worship U the Holy One:
Set up the Tabernacle according
to the pattern you were shown on
the mountain.Inside the Tabernacle
make a special curtain of fine linen.
Hang this curtain on gold hooks
attached to 4 posts of acacia wood
Hang the inner curtain from clasps
and put the Ark of the Covenant
in the room behind it. This curtain
will separate the Holy Place from
the Most Holy Place. Then put the
Ark’s cover,the place of atonement
on top of Ark of Covenant inside
the Most Holy Place (E26:30-34).
HS, it’s easy to forget the vast gulf
between God’s holiness and us.
Thanks to Christ that this barrier
had been torn down. And thanks
we can now approach God’s throne
with confidence as He sympathises
with our human weaknesses. Amen

Lord, we will offer You our Prayer:
Each morning when (the priests)
tends to the lamps, he must again
burn incense in the Lord’s presence
This must be done from generation
to generation. Do not offer any
unholy incense on this altar…
And Aaron shall make atonement…
once a year with the blood of
the sin offering (Exo 30:8-10).
Lord, thank You that You want
to spend time and have fellowship
with me. Help me to teach others
by example the importance of
daily devotion, prayer & fellowship
with You. Sometimes I may let
so many things get in the way
of our time together. But Lord,
I purpose to reserve a portion of
each day just for You & me. Amen

Lord, we will Serve with Your Gifts:
Then the Lord spoke to Moses:
See I have called by name Bezalel
…of the tribe of Judah. And I have
filled him with the Spirit of God,
giving him great wisdom, ability
and expertise in all kinds of crafts
to design artistic works… And…
I have put wisdom in the hearts
of all the gifted artisans, that
they may make all that I have
commanded you (Ex 31:1-5).
Lord, You called into action gifted
artisans to make furnishing for the
Tabernacle and sacred garments
for the priests. It appears that You
God not only assigns incredible
abilities to individuals; but You
also used that giftedness for
Your purpose when You call them
into service. So Lord, we avail
our God-instilled abilities and
passion for the furtherance of
Your kingdom for Your glory. Amen

Thanksgiving In Joel 2 (Mar 15)

Thank God for Redeeming Time

Addressing hearts that have grown
cold to the things of God, Joel
confronts the people of Judah.
He reminds them of the destruction
brought by a plague of locusts.
Yet that disaster will seem pale
beside the castastrophe to come.
Unless the nation repents, it will
be destroyed by the army from the
north. The only hope of escape is
for the people to repent. If they do,
then God will divert judgment and
will deliver unparalleled blessing,
judgment on all Judah’s enemies
and the gift of peace to Zion!

Lord, You Will Redeem the Time:
I Will Repay you for the years
the locusts have eaten… my
great army that I sent among you.
You shall eat in plenty and be
satisfied, and praise the name of
the Lord your God (Joel 2:25-26).
It shall come to pass afterward that
I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh..
Whoever Calls on the name of the
Lord Shall Be Saved (v28-32) Amen

Lord, thank You that it is never
too late to turn to You and see
Restoration happens in our life.
Even though there has been time
wasted when I didn’t live fully for U,
I pray that U Will Redeem the time
and help me to make up for it.
Restore everything that has been
lost, wasted or ruined so that
I can give You the glory. Amen.

Lord, there’s times when we ignore
the still small voice and make
mistakes. Though discipline may
come but You promise to give back
the years the locusts had eaten.
Grateful that You not only forgive
but Yr mercy is great. You want us
to learn from mistakes and allow
U to bring good from them. Thank
U for forgiving mistakes. Help me
learn from them & grow closer to U.
And thank You that U will redeem
my past & guide my future. Amen.

Lord, thank you for Your Word
that everyone who calls on
Your name Will Be Saved. Thank
You for the promise to hear
and answer my cries for help.
Your rescue of me may not end
up looking like what I imagine
but You do promise to deliver.
Grant me the faith to believe this
promise with all my heart. Amen.

Thk God for Bringing Things to Life

Backgrounder on Ezekiel 37-39:
In a vision told with vivid details,
that u can see the bones moving,
Ezekiel announces Israel’s future
rebirth. Reassembled with God’s
breath of life, the bones become
the new Israel, more powerful than
before. Then in a second vision,
Ezekiel sees the revived nation
utterly destroy its last foe – the
Magog – after which God is agreed
by all nations as undisputed Victor.

Lord, You Can Revive All Things:
Prophesy to these (dry) bones…
This is what the Sovereign Lord
says to these bones: I will make
breath enter you, and you will
come to life… So I prophesied as
He commanded me, and breath
came into them, and they lived
and stood upon their feet,
an exceedingly great army…
Then you shall know that I am
the Lord (Ezek 37:4-13). Amen.

Father, there are areas of my life
that seem to be dead; and they
need a new infusion of Your life.
There are dreams I have had
that seems as if they have died
for it has been a long time and
still they have not been realised.
I know if You can make dry bones
into a vast army, then You can also
bring life to anything worth praying,
no matter how dead it seems.Amen

Gracious God of all compassion,
your breath alone can bring life
to dry bones and weary souls.
Pour out your Spirit upon us, that
we may face despair with hope of
resurrection and faith thro Christ.
Forgive our faults as we confess &
restore us the joy of your salvation.
Call us out of the valley of dry
bones into Your Kingdom of hope.
We pray these in Jesus name,Amen

Lord, by a roadway in the
wilderness, You will lead me
And rivers in the desert will I see
Heaven and Earth will fade
but Your Word will still remain
And You’ll do something new today
Oh, God will make a way
Where there seems to be no way
You work in ways we cannot see
You will make a way for me
You will make a way… Amen.
