Praying Thro Romans (Jun 16)

Heeding Sinfulness of Mankind
(Prayer Walk thro Rom 1-3)

Backgrounder: Paul begins his legal
brief by describing the helpless
condition of humanity. A rebellious
nature has led to rejection of the
Creator & worship of the creation.
God in turn has permitted the
sinful nature of human beings
to express the fullness of its
corruption and the whole human
race stands helpless before God.
Truly, all have sinned and come
short of the glory of God (R3:23).

Lord, we have a tendency to sin,
causing us to want to live our
own way rather than God’s way.
Whilst we cannot remove sin
by our own strength, thanks be
to God that Christ can save us!
Lord, help us Stand for the Gospel;
help us Praise & Thank U more &
help us Share Good News. Amen.

Lord, we’ll Stand for the Gospel:
I am not ashamed of the gospel,
because it is the power of God
that brings salvation to everyone
who believes…For in the gospel the
righteousness of God is revealed
– a righteousness that is by faith
from the first to the last, just as
it is written: the righteous will
live By Faith (Rom 1:16-17) Amen.
Lord, thanks for gospel promises
the power of God will do what
we can’t accomplish ourselves.
Because of What Christ Did for
us, our sins are forgiven and we
are in a right standing with God.
Because of Who Christ Is in us,
the power of God will produce the
righteous life that He desires. Amen

Lord, we will Praise & Thank You:
Ever since the world was created,
people have seen the earth & sky.
Through everything God made,
they can clearly see his invisible
quality qualities – his eternal power
and divine nature. So they have
no excuse of not knowing God.
… although they knew God,
they did not glorify Him as God,
nor were thankful…(Rom 1:20-21)
Lord, help us know more of your
nature during quiet time with You.
As we know more of your holiness,
help us lead a life that honours You.
And as we know more of your
might, love and faithfulness,
remind us to glorify, praise and
worship You for Who You Are.
And we purpose to Thank You
for What You have done for us.
And may our gratitude grow over
time into deep love that leads us to
trust & obey U more & more. Amen

Lord, we’ll Share the Good News:
All have sinned; all fall short of
God’s glorious standard. Yet now
God in his gracious kindness
declares us not guilty. He has
done this through Christ Jesus,
who has freed us by taking
away our sins (Rom 3:23-24).
Lord, challenge us to sow seeds
of kindness so that people’s
hearts be softened & open to the
gospel which can set them free.
Open our spiritual eyes that we
might see those in our life who are
hurting & open to the Good News.
And grant us courage to seize
every opportunity and share the
gospel message with them. Amen
