Praying thro 1 John (Sep 9)

Living Confidently In Love
(Prayer Walk thro 1 John 3-5)

The apostle John, who is enjoying
a delightful fellowship with God,
earnestly desires that his spiritual
children enjoy that same fellowship
and writes I John telling them how:
God is Light and therefore to
engage in fellowship with Him
means walking in the light of
His commandments. God is love,
and thus His children must walk
in love. And God is life, and those
who desire fellowship with Him
must possess the spiritual life,
which begins with spiritual birth
through faith in Jesus Christ.

Lord, thank you through apostle
John You reveal the vital aspects
of our faith to give us confidence.
In our dark world, You God is light.
In the cold world, You bring the
warm of love. And in our dying
world, You bring life. Thank you
that when we lack confidence,
these truths bring us certainty.
Help us to Love Sacrificially;
help us be Confident in Your Love &
help us Come Confidently. Amen.

Preview on 1-3 John & Jude (Sep8)

Preview on 1-3 John & Jude

We have been Chronologically
covering the Bible phase by phase.
We start the Gospels, with Jesus
presented as the Perfect Servant,
Savior of the world, Messianic King
and the Son of God, before Acts
chronicles Growth of the Church.
Then Paul urges the Galatians to
live by Faith alone, Thessalonians
to Serve ahead of Second Coming,
to Corinthians to Live Rightly,
to Romans Justification by Faith,
Ephesians living as Body of Christ
to Colossians Doctrinal Purity and
to Philippians Unity of the Spirit;
before Paul’s pastoral letters and
then pursing maturity in Hebrews,
practical Christianity in James and
Maturing thro tough times in 1/2Pet.

Continuing into 1 John, the beloved
apostle wrote the letter to help his
brothers in their walk with God.
He wants them to be grounded
in assurance of their salvation,
experiencing victory over sin and
the joy of the Christian life. He
reminds readers that belief should
be based on Christ’s incarnation
and that every believer has
responsibility to walk like Christ.

Prayer Thot on Heb 8 (Sep 7)

God Gives Us Better Covenant

The writer of Hebrews highlighted
the superiority of Christ by pointing
out the heart of the human problem
is the problem of the human heart.
The old covenant was inadequate
because it was unable to deal
permanently with sin. But God’s
new covenant written in Christ’s
own blood which He shed on
the cross – makes full provision
for the forgiveness of sins.

Lord, we receive Better Covenant:
He is the one who mediated for
us a far Better Covenant with God,
based on better promises (Heb8:6)
This is the new covenant I will
make with the people of Israel
on that day, says the Lord: I will
put my laws in their minds so they
will understand them, and I will
Write Them on their hearts so they
will obey them. I will be their God,
and they will be my people (v10).
…For all shall Know Me, from the
least to the greatest (v11). Amen.

Christ Always Interceding For You

God spoke in times past through
the prophets, but He has reserved
the declaration of His glory for
His Son. By His death, Jesus lifts
mankind into the family of God.
Because of His perfect humanity,
Jesus is uniquely qualified to serve
as High Priest for sinful mankind.
Moses was a servant in God’s
household, but Christ is the
divine Son over God’s household.
And Christ will bring His people into
the eternal resting place of heaven.

Lord, You Will Intercede For Us:
There were many priests under
the old system, for death prevented
them from remaining in office.
But because Jesus lives forever,
He has a permanent priesthood.
Therefore He is able to save
completely those who come
to God through Him, because
He always lives to intercede
for them (Heb 7:23-25). Amen.

God Remembers & Keeps His Promises

God spoke in times past through
the prophets, but He has reserved
the declaration of His glory for
His Son. By His death, Jesus lifts
mankind into the family of God.
Because of His perfect humanity,
Jesus is uniquely qualified to serve
as High Priest for sinful mankind.
Moses was a servant in God’s
household, but Christ is the
divine Son over God’s household.
And Christ will bring His people into
the eternal resting place of heaven.

Lord, You Remember & Keep Promises:
God is not unfair. He will not forget
how hard you have worked for
Him and how you have shown
your love to Him (Heb 6:10).
God also bound himself with an
oath, so that those who received
the promise cd be perfectly sure
He would never change His mind…
These 2 things are unchangeable
because it is impossible for God
to lie. Therefore, we who have
fled to Him for refuge can take
new courage, for we can hold on
to His promise with confidence.
This confidence is like a strong
and trustworthy Anchor for
our souls (Heb 6:17-19). Amen.

God Welcomes Us to His Throne

God spoke in times past through
the prophets, but He has reserved
the declaration of His glory for
His Son. By His death, Jesus lifts
mankind into the family of God.
Because of His perfect humanity,
Jesus is uniquely qualified to serve
as High Priest for sinful mankind.
Moses was a servant in God’s
household, but Christ is the
divine Son over God’s household.
And Christ will bring His people into
the eternal resting place of heaven.

Lord,we Approach with confidence:
Seeing we have a great High Priest
let us hold fast our confession.
For we do not have a High Priest
who cannot sympathise with our
weaknesses… Let us therefore
Come Boldly to the throne of
Grace, that we may Obtain Mercy
and Find Grace to help in time
of need (Heb 4:15-16). Amen.

Praying thro 2 Peter (Sep 2)

Growing Toward Christian Maturity
(Prayer Walk thro 2 Pet 1-3)

While Peter’s audience is the same
as in his first letter, his theme and
purpose are different. Persecution
from unbelievers can be hard
for Christians to bear (1 Peter),
but defection within the community
of believers can be even more
devastating (2 Peter). To counter-
act the effects of this “poison”,
Peter reminds his readers of the
timeless truths of the faith and
exhorts them to continue growing
toward Christian maturity.

Father, apostle Peter exhorts us
to be diligent in Christian growth.
In this regard, help us O Lord,
to keep on knowing more of You,
remember what Christ taught us
& be diligent in faithful obedience.
And we claim your promises:
that You Enable Godly Living;
that You Rescue & Free us; and
that You are Long-Suffering. Amen.

Praying thro 1 Peter (Sep 1)

Enduring Suffering with Purpose
(Prayer Walk thro 1 Pet 1-5)

Peter writes to scattered Jewish
Christians who are undergoing
intense persecution for their faith.
He reminds his readers that God
has begotten us again unto a
living hope (1:3). Therefore, don’t
be surprised when suffering comes
your way; expect it, prepare for it,
responds to it correctly. And be
sure you are doing what is right,
not for doing what it wrong.
Imitate Christ in your submissive
spirit toward one another,
and God will richly reward you
when the trials of life are over.

Lord, we note Peter comforted
the suffering Christians with the
hope of eternal life & challenging
them to continue living holy lives.
Grant us grace so that we are
able to endure suffering faithfully.
Help us remember that you have
promised a Priceless Inheritance;
that we are Your Special People &
that U Will Hear our prayers. Amen.
