Prayer Thot on 2 Tim 2 (Aug 28)

God Remains Faithful to You

Paul writes his 2nd letter to Tim
from prison with imminent death.
And yet the focus of Paul’s letter
is not on his own problems and
needs but on the problems and
needs of young Timothy who is
pastor of the church at Ephesus.
Paul, who has stood faithfully for
the Lord through his life, passes
on that same challenge to Timothy.
There’s no need to fear when
You serve the Lord of the universe
and endure hardship for His sake.

Lord, we will Pass On Your Truths:
You have heard me teach many
things that have been confirmed
by many reliable witnesses. Teach
these great truths to trustworthy
people who are able to Pass
Them On to others (2 Tim 2:2).
And as Christ’s soldiers, do not
let yourself become tied up in
the affairs of this life… Follow the
Lord’s rules for doing his work,
just as an athlete either follows
the rules or is disqualified and
wins no prize. Hardworking farmers
enjoy the fruit of their labour (v3-6)
If we endure hardship, we will reign
with Him… If we are unfaithful,
He Remains Faithful, for He cannot
deny who He is (v12-13). Amen.

God Enables You To Do Right

Paul writes his 2nd letter to Tim
    from prison with imminent death.
And yet the focus of Paul’s letter
is not on his own problems and
needs but on the problems and
needs of young Timothy who is

Paul, who has stood faithfully for
the Lord through his life, passes
on that same challenge to Timothy.
There’s no need to fear when
You serve the Lord of the universe
and endure hardship for His sake.

Lord, we will Pray For Others:
    I thank God whom I serve…
    with a clear conscience…
    as I constantly remember
you in my prayers (2Tim 1:3).
For the Spirit God gave us
    does not make us timid,
    but gives us power, love
    and self-discipline (v7). Amen.

Praying thro James (Aug 26)

Staying Connected to God
(Prayer Walk thro James 3-5)

Just as a human body that fails
to breathe is labelled a dead body,
so too a faith that fails to breathe
us labelled a dead faith. And the
breath of faith in the Christian life
is good works: demonstrating
concern for the poor, controlling
the tongue & building up others.
True faith & good works cannot be
divorced, for your life is the lab in
which your faith is shown to be real.

Dear Lord, we realise You want
believers not only to hear the truth
but also to do it. Grant us grace
to Love You, Draw Close to You
and to Live Out our faith in You.
Help us Seek Wisdom from You;
help us Humbly Submit to You; and
help us Keep On Praying. Amen.

Living Out Your Faith
(Prayer Walk thro Jas 1-2)

Just as a human body that fails
to breathe is labelled a dead body,
so too a faith that fails to breathe
us labelled a dead faith. And the
breath of faith in the Christian life
is good works: demonstrating
concern for the poor, controlling
the tongue, exhibiting a spirit of
humility and building up others.

Dear Lord, we realise You want
believers not only to hear the truth
but also to do it. Grant us grace
to commit to love and to serve;
and help us to seek ways of
Living Out Our Faith In You, for
they are evidence of true faith.
Help us to Ask You for Wisdom;
help us to be Slow to Anger &
help us to be Obedient. Amen.

Preview on James (Aug 25)

Preview on James

We have been Chronologically
covering the Bible phase by phase.
We start the Gospels, with Jesus
presented as the Perfect Servant,
Savior of the world, Messianic King
and the Son of God, before Acts
chronicles Growth of the Church.
Then Paul urges the Galatians to
live by Faith alone, Thessalonians
to Serve ahead of Second Coming,
to Corinthians to Live Rightly,
to Romans Justification by Faith,
Ephesians living as Body of Christ
to Colossians Doctrinal Purity and
to Philippians Unity of the Spirit;
before Paul’s pastoral letters and
then pursing maturity in Hebrews.

Next, we continue into James:
where the apostle shows how faith
integrates with everyday practical
experience by stressing that true
faith produces doers of the Word.
For James, a faith that produces
no change in a person’s life is
really no faith at all. True faith will
bear fruit in actions and deeds.
James offer many tests for genuine
faith: It endures trials, obey Word,
harbours no prejudice, controls
the tongue, is separated from
the world and resists the devil.

Prayer Thot for the Day on Philem

God Desires Grace in the Family

On the run after committing wrong
against his master; Onesimus
the slave sought refuge in Rome.
There he meets Paul and converts
to faith in Christ. Though he shows
his gratitude by serving Paul, he
still must reconcile with his master.
Paul writes to Philemon asking him
to forgive Onesimus and to accept
him as a brother in Christ.

Lord, we’ll be Gracious & Forgiving:
I pray u may be active in Sharing
Your Faith, so that you will have
a full understanding of every good
thing we have in Christ (Philem5-6)
Consider this as a Request from me
– Paul an old man and now also
a prisoner for the sake of Christ.
I Appeal to you to show kindness
to my child Onesimus (Ph 9-10).
He is more than a slave, for he is
now a brother in the Lord. Welcome
him as u would welcome me (16-17)

Prayer Thot for the Day on 1Tim 6

God Desires U Be Eternal Minded

Timothy ministered alongside
Paul as missionary & later received
the challenging assignment of
pastoring the church at Ephesus.
Paul’s 1st letter resembles a manual
for building church leadership.
It also contains many principles
to impact the lives of others.

Lord, we’ll Fight the Good Fight:
Godliness with Contentment is
great gain…We can take nothing
out of (this world). If we have food,
we’ll be content with that (1T6:6-8)
Fight the good fight of faith.
Hold tightly to the Eternal life
that God has given you (v11-12).
Command those who are rich not
to be arrogant nor to put their hope
in wealth, but to put their hope in
God, who richly provides us with
everything for our enjoyment.
Command them to do good… to
be generous & willing to share. By
doing this they will be storing up
treasure for the future so that they
may experience True Life (v17-19)

God Desires Goodness & Godliness

Timothy ministered alongside
Paul as missionary & later received
the challenging assignment of
pastoring the church at Ephesus.
Paul’s 1st letter resembles a manual
for building church leadership.
It also contains many principles
to impact the lives of others.

Lord, we aim Be Example of You:
Everything God created is Good
and nothing is to be rejected if
it is received with Thanksgiving
(ITim 4:4). Train yourself to
Be Godly. For physical training is
of some value, but godliness for
all things (v7-8). Be An Example to
all believers in what you teach, in
the way you live, in your love, your
faith and your purity (v12). Amen.

God Desires Peace and Unity

Timothy ministered alongside
Paul as missionary & later received
the challenging assignment of
pastoring the church at Ephesus.
Paul’s 1st letter resembles a manual
for building church leadership.
It also contains many principles
to impact the lives of others.

Lord, we will Pray In Unity:
I urge you first of all to pray for
all people. As you make your
requests, plead for God’s mercy
upon them, and give thanks.
Pray this way for kings & all others
who are in authority so that we
can live peaceful and quiet lives…
This pleases God, who wants
everyone to be saved (1Tim 2:1-4)
I want men everywhere to lift up
holy hands in prayer, without
anger or disputing (v8). Amen.

God Is Patient Towards You

Timothy ministered alongside
with Paul as a missionary and
later received the challenging
assignment of pastoring the church
at Ephesus. Paul’s first letter
resembles a manual for building
church leadership. More generally,
it is a rich mine of principles
for anyone who wishes to have
impact in the lives of others.

Lord, You are Patient towards Us:
This is a faithful saying that Christ
Jesus came into the world to save
sinners (and) display His Immense
Patience as an example for those
who would believe in Him and
receive eternal life (1Tim 1:15-16).
(May) the prophetic words spoken
earlier…help you fight well in the
Lord’s battles; having faith and a
good conscience (v18-19). Amen.
