Living for the Glory of God
David ends his life the same way
he began it with humble confidence
in God. In spite of his numerous accomplishments, David never
lets greatness go to his head.
Rather, his final words to Solomon
reflect the same wholehearted
devotion to God that characterised
the young shepherd of Judea.
With the dream of temple entrusted
to his son, and God’s blessings all around him, David dies in a good old age, full of days, riches & honour and Solomon his son reigns in his stead.
Lord, we will Live for Your Glory:
Yours O Lord is the greatness,
the power, the glory & the majesty.
Yours is the kingdom O Lord
And You are exalted over all.
Wealth and honour come from You;
You are the ruler of all things.
In your hands are strength and
power to exalt and give strength
to all. Now, our God, we give You
thanks and praise Your glorious
name (1 Chronicles 29:11-13).
Lord, You are in control of all things.
Help me remember that You rule
over everything: the universe
and my life. You possess all power
and might; and You give strength
and makes all things great.
You are the source of all good
things – wealth, power & honour.
What do I have Lord that I did
not receive from You? Amen.
Lord, although things may not be
that great this year, we realise that
You God has also been good to us!
Let’s remember the truth in Jas 1:17
that every good gift is from above.
And surely You alone deserve
all our praise and thanksgiving.
Lord, Yours is the greatness,
the power, the glory & the majesty.
We adore U as the One who is over
all things. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Heavenly Father, we thank You
and praise You for all that You have
given us. Help us to give back to
You with the same heart of praise
we have when we receive from You.
We aspire to be cheerful givers.
Help us not to value possessions
more than we value You and Your
word. Enable us to give the way
You want us to. In Jesus’ name.
