Hearing God In Hebrews 3 (Dec 2)

Keep Up Your Courage

Those who rebelled against God
in the days of the wilderness
wanderings were excluded from
His rest in the Promised Land.
However, for the people of God
today there exists an even better
rest than that – the one His Son
spoke about. Since the promise
of entering His rest still stands,
let’s enter and enjoy it.

Lord, we will Be Courageous:
We are God’s household, if we Keep
Up our Courage & remain confident
in our hope in Christ (Heb 3:6).
That is why today when you hear
the Spirit’s voice, Don’t Harden
Your hearts (Hebrews 3:7-8).
Lord, it is a calling for all of us
to see to it that none of us has
a sinful, Unbelieving heart that
turns from You the living God (v12).

Father, thank You for making
me a part of Your household.
Holy Spirit, fill me and renew
my confidence in Christ Jesus and
in His finished work on the cross.
Strengthen me to keep up courage,
empower me to believe Your Word,
to listen attentively to Your voice
and to remain confident because
my hope is in Christ. Amen.

Lord, You are constantly calling
us towards the place of fruitfulness
and fulfilment that You intend for us.
Yet we find it easy to ignore You or
push Your voice to back of our mind.
Forgive our negligence and
even our rebellious attitude.
Grant us Soft Heart to Listen to You.
And make us sensitive to everything
that You have to say. Amen.

Lord, let me be encouraged in Your
truth. Show me the ways that I can
be instrument of encouragement.
And keep me from any discouraging
actions or words to others each day.
Let me be sensitive to see where
those in my life are discouraged.
Encourage the hearts of my friends.
Encourage the hearts of loved ones.
Keep them from discouragement.
And keep discouraging people
far far away from them. Amen.

Meditating thro Ps 120-127 (Dec 1)

Pilgrim Songs of Ascents

The Fifth book of Psalms (107-150)
is similar to Deut being praise and
thanksgiving for God and his Word.
And Ps120-134 are Songs of Ascents
sung by pilgrims on way to Jerusalem
or while ascending Mount Zion.
These psalms will also concern
people who are in journey:
peace (120, 122); help (121).
protection (125, 127) and
provision (123, 124, 126, 127).

Lord, thank You for the psalms of
ascents and Your Word of blessing
to those who meditate on them.
Help us and meet our needs
as we Call on You Lord in Prayer.
For our Help Comes From You;
our true Security Is In You; and
we are Dependent On You. Amen.

Lord, our Help comes from You:
I look up to the mountains,
does my help come from there?
My help comes from the Lord,
who made the heavens & the earth!
He will not let you stumble and fall;
the one who watches over you will
not sleep. The Lord is your keeper…
The Lord shall preserve u from evil.
The Lord shall preserve your going
out and coming in (Ps 121:1-3, 5-8).
Lord, my help comes from You,
who made the earth! Because
You hold me, I’ll not stumble & fall.
Because You Lord watch over me,
I’ll not fear for U care for me. Amen.

Lord, our Security is in You:
Those who trust in the Lord
are as secure as Mount Zion;
they will not be defeated but
will endure forever. Just as
the mountains surround and
protect Jerusalem, so the Lord
surrounds & protects his people,
both now & forever (Psa 125:1-2).
Lord, I put my trust in You today.
You are my security & protection,
my fortress and my hiding place
And I praise You! When troubles
multiply, help me to remember
that You are ever Faithful,
that You will never change,
that You surround & protect me,
both now and forever. Amen.

Lord, we are Dependent on You:
Unless the Lord builds a house,
the work of builders is useless.
Unless the Lord protects a city,
guarding it with sentries will do
no good. It is useless for you to
work so hard, anxiously working
for food to eat; for God gives rest
to his loved ones (Psa 127:1-2).
Lord, I acknowledge that without
dependence and trust in You, all
my work is in vain & effort wasted
I need You to be the foundation
of my life, family and provision
so that the work of my hands
will bear fruit that honours You.
Then I will be able to enjoy
the rest that You give. Amen.
