Christ Is Coming Again !
It is now in the final week of Jesus’
earthly life. In the city of Jerusalem,
there’s excitement of the feast
days -some prepared to welcome
a King, while others prepare for
an execution. Jesus Himself draws
the battle lines by driving the
money-changers from the temple.
From then on, the religious leaders
double their efforts to trap Him.
Though His hour of anguish draws
near, Jesus continues the activities
that have characterised His
earthly ministry: teaching and
healing, confronting & consoling.
Lord, we will remain Watchful:
There will be a time of great
persecution… because you are
my followers. But this will be
your opportunity to tell about me…
Not a hair of your head will perish!
By standing firm, you will win
your souls. (Luke 21:12-19).
And there will be signs in the sun,
in the moon; and on the earth
distress of nations, with the sea
and the waves roaring; men’s
hearts failing them from fear…
But take heed to yourselves,
lest your hearts be weighed down
with drinking or cares of this life.
If you do, the final day will
suddenly catch you like a trap.
Watch out and keep praying…
and that the Son of Man will be
pleased with you (Luke 21:25-36)
Lord, following You has always
entailed the risk of rejection from
others. But Jesus reassures us
that whenever that happens,
He will stand right there with
us, with his Holy Spirit guiding
and helping us. Remember this
the next time we need courage
or hope, and then stand firm
for Christ. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Lord Jesus, you are coming again
and we need to be watchful.
Help us to be spiritually fit & work
at the tasks God has given to us.
Help us not to let our mind and
spirit be dulled by careless living.
Help us not let anxieties burden
us, so that we will be ready
to move at God’s command.
In Jesus’ precious name, Amen.
Lord, Help us remain Watchful of
your 2nd coming, not to fall into
careless living; or allow anxieties
to burden us; but instead remain
focussed on the assignments
that God has prepared for us
so that we will live life of destiny.
Help us Lord Seek the Lost, giving
us burden for them; opening our
eyes to those seeking You; and
sowing seeds of kindness to earn
goodwill to share the good news.
In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
