Gospel Truth in Matthew 8 (Oct 31)

Fulfilling Kingdom Mission By Faith

Jesus came to earth to begin his
kingdom. Matthew focuses on 10
miracles in Mt8&9 demonstrating
Jesus’ power over disease, the
forces of nature & the spirit world.
Christ then bestows that same
power & authority on His chosen
apostles and sends them out
as ambassadors of the kingdom.
He first instructs them how to
act, then warns them of the
dangers they will face, as He calls
them to committed discipleship.

Dear Almighty God, You sent
Jesus to be our Master & King.
And we your people purpose
by making ourselves available
to fulfil the Mission of kingdom.
We will Trust Your Compassion;
we will Trust Your Word and
we will Remember Yr Word. Amen

Gospel Truth in Matt 7 (Oct 30)

Don’t Be Judgmental

Jesus claimed to be the Messiah,
the King of the Jews. And you
will read in Matt 5-7 the Sermon
of the Mount, where He presents
His statement of heaven (Mt 5:3,10)
Relationship to God (not simply
adherence to ritual) and inward
attitude (not merely outward action)
become focus of Christ’s message
for a lifestyle of righteousness.

Lord, help us Not Be Judgmental:
Do not judge others and you will
not be judged…Why worry about
a speck in your friend’s eye
when you have a log in your own?
First get rid of the log in your
own eye; then you will see well
enough to deal with the speck
in your friend’s eye (Matt 7:1-5)
Jesus said: Keep on asking, and
you will be given what u ask for…
If you bring evil know how to give
good gifts to your children, how
much more will your Father who
is in heaven give good things to
those who ask Him (Matt 7:7-11).

Pray Privately, Forgive & Seek First

Jesus claimed to be the Messiah,
the King of the Jews. And you
will read in Matt 5-7 the Sermon
of the Mount, where He presents
His statement of heaven (Mt 5:3,10)
Relationship to God (not simply
adherence to ritual) and inward
attitude (not merely outward action)
become focus of Christ’s message
for a lifestyle of righteousness.

Lord, we will Forgive & Seek First:
When you pray, go away by
yourself, shut the door behind you
and pray to the Father secretly.
Then your Father who knows all
secrets will reward you (Matt 6:6)
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our debts, as we
also Have Forgiven our debtors…
For if you Forgive others when
they sin against you, your
Heavenly Father will also forgive
you. But if you do not forgive
others their sins, your Father will
not forgive yr sins (Matt 6:11-15).
Do not worry saying: What shall
we eat? For the pagans run after
these things and your heavenly
Father knows that u need them.
But Seek First his kingdom and
His righteousness, and all these
things will be given to u (v31-33).

Be Merciful, Be Light, Be Perfect

Jesus claimed to be the Messiah,
the King of the Jews. And you

for a lifestyle of righteousness.

Dear Almighty God, You sent
Jesus to save us from our sins;
give us eternal & abundant life;
and to be our Master and King.

Gospel Truth in Matt 1-4 (Oct 27)

Arrival of the Prophesied King

Matthew begins his Gospel with
the genealogy of Jesus Christ.
Even as OT book of Genesis traces
the creation of the universe & man;
now Matthew shows that the
advent of Jesus inaugurates
a new creation. From the call of
Abraham, God has been moving
to accomplish His redemptive plan.
Jesus, the prophesied Messiah,
fulfills the OT promises in every
facet of His life: annunciation,
birth, upbringing and baptism.

Dear Father God, You sent Jesus
to be our eternal King and Master.
Help us Holy Spirit to give Jesus
the rightful place in our heart.
And help your people to purpose
to Obey Your Instructions;
to Seek u diligently & Worship U;
to Do whatever is Right and
to Submit to Your Way. Amen.

Preview on Matthew Gospel

The Gospel is the good news that
God in Jesus Christ has fulfilled
His promises to Israel, and that a
way of salvation has been opened
to all. But the Gospel is not just
about salvation in terms of eternal
and abundant life, it is also about
the power of God and much more.
We will learn more of what the
Gospel offers and what it entails
to live out the Gospel as we
mediate on the four gospels.

Dear Almighty & All-Loving God,
I pray even as Yr People meditate
on the holy and precious Gospel
that Your Spirit minister to their
soul and Will Energise them;
that they Will Experience
the blessings of a praying life;
that their Faith Will Arise and
they Will Trust & Obey You more
each day. In His name, Amen.

Following Mark gospel which
portrays Jesus as Perfect Servant,
we meditate on Matt which records
Jesus’ preparation & proclamation
as God’s Messiah (Eternal King)
to the people of Israel. Opposition
to His ministry grows as religious
leaders deny His claims & disavow
His miracles, prompting Jesus
to turn increasingly to His disciples.
Through miracles, parables and
sermons, He prepares them for
the climax of His earthly ministry
– His sacrificial death, burial and
resurrection. Prior to His ascension
Jesus commissions His disciples
to continue the work He had begun

Obedience to the Father’s Will

Lord Jesus, In your Last Week on
earth, U Prepared the disciples
for the Last Days by telling them
to take up their cross (M8:34).
You performed startling miracles
including transfiguration (M9:2)
and urged them to Have Faith in
God and not doubt (M11:22-23).
U taught the most Impt teaching
to love the Lord wholeheartedly
and to love others (M12:30-31).
And you prophesied earthquakes,
famines, lawlessness (Mark 13:8);
gospel spread to all nations (v10);
severe persecutions before you in
your mercy shortened it (v11-20);
false prophets, cosmic signs just
before your coming in the clouds
to gather your elect (v21-27). And
urge watchfulness & dependence
on God, You said My words will
not pass away (Mark 13:28-37).

Lord, having thoroughly prepared
the disciples, your actions in the
Final Day on earth shows you are
Fully Obedient to the Father’s Will
to Give Yr Live as ransom (M10:45)
At the Last Supper, U said one of
u who eats with me will betray me
(M14:18) & yet U did not stop him.
You greatly desire to get out of
the intense suffering and yet You
went to Gethsemane to pray: Not
what I will but what You will (v36).
You chose to surrender to the
Father’s will in loving obedience.

The Lord Is Coming Back Soon?!

Sermons of the Servant (Mk 11-13)
The final week of Jesus’ earthly
life dawns; that period of time
which occupies more space in
the Gospels than any other stage
of Jesus’ ministry. His arrival in
Jerusalem coincides with the
preparations for the Feast of
Passover. Though events move
quickly, Jesus is never hurried.
There is time to clean the temple,
watch the widow contributes
her two mites, and give final
instructions to the disciples.

Lord, You are Coming Back:
Everyone will see the Son of Man
coming on the clouds with great
power and glory. And He will send
out his angels to gather his chosen
ones from all over the world.
(Mk13:26-27). Since u don’t know
when (these things) will happen,
stay alert and keep watch.
The coming of the Son of Man
can be compared with that
of a man who left home to go
on a trip. He gave each of his
employees instructions about
the work they were to do, and
He told the gatekeeper to watch
for his return. So keep a sharp
lookout! For you do not know
when the homeowner will return
– at evening, midnight, early dawn
or late daybreak. Don’t let him
find you sleeping when he arrives
without warning (v33-36) Amen.

Love the Lord Wholeheartedly

Lord, we Love You Wholeheartedly:
(A teacher of religious law asked
Jesus): Of all the commandments
which is the most important?
Jesus replied: You must love
the Lord your God with all
your heart, all your soul, all
your mind and all your strength.
The second is equally important:
Love your neighbour as yourself.
No other commandment is greater
than these (Mark 12:28-31).
(Jesus) called his disciples to him
and said: I assure you, this poor
widow has given more than all
the others have given. For they
gave a tiny part of their surplus,
but she poor as she is, has given
everything she has (v43-44) Amen

Praying Without Doubt Nor Grudge

Sermons of the Servant (Mk 11-13)

Jerusalem coincides with the
preparations for the Feast of
Passover. Though events move

There is time to clean the temple,

Lord, we ask not doubt nor grudge:
Jesus said: Have faith in God.
For assuredly I say to you,
whoever says to this mountain,
be removed and be cast into
the sea and does not doubt,
but believes that those things
he says will be done, he will have
whatever he says. Therefore,
You can pray for anything, and
if you believe, you will have it.
But when you are praying,
first forgive anyone you are
holding a grudge against, so that
your Father in heaven will forgive
your sins too (Mark 11:22-25).
