Prayer Thot for the Day (Jun 1)

Christ Urges Prayer & Not Give Up

Backgrounder on Luke 16-18:
With His gaze fixed on Jerusalem,
Jesus intensifies His final training
of the disciples. In these three
chapters, stewardship is theme
for the disciples will soon be
entrusted with the message of
the gospel. Jesus outlines the
duties of a servant; illustrates
from the lives of 10 lepers; and
underscores the importance of
prayer that is Persistent & humble.

Lord, we’ll Persevere in Prayer:
Then Jesus told his disciples a
parable to show them that they
should always Pray & Not Give Up..
Will Not God bring about justice
for his chosen ones who cry out
to him day and night? Will he keep
putting them off?…However when
the Son of Man comes, will He
finds Faith on the earth (Lk 18:1-8)
Jesus called for the children and
said to the disciples: Let the
children come to me. Don’t stop
them! For the Kingdom of God
belongs to such as these. I assure
you, anyone who doesn’t have their
kind of Faith will not get into the
Kingdom of God (Lk 18:16-17).

Lord, sometimes we feel like
the mistreated widow in being
ignored by You God. But we will
keep on knocking and not give up
in spite how discouraged we feel,
for there is nowhere else to go.
And in accordance to Your Word,
we trust that our Heavenly Father
has indeed heard our prayers
and will respond to our needs.
For prayer after all is not about
overcoming God’s reluctance; but
laying hold of His willingness. Amen

Lord, I sometimes take my faith
for granted. Forgive me for the
times I make my faith complicated.
I want to rejoice in the simplicity
of my Father’s love. And also
to experience new depths of
truths that You wish to show me.
I ask You to take my faith to
the next level and then help me
to share it with others. Amen.

Lord, Sweet hour of prayer,
Sweet hour of prayer,
Thy wings shall my petition bear
To Thou whose truth
and Faithfulness
Engage the Waiting soul to bless.
And since You bid me
seek Thy face,
Believe Your word,
and Trust Thy grace.
I’ll cast on Thee my ev’ry care.
And Wait for Thee,
sweet hour of prayer. Amen.
