Trusting God In Hebrews 3 (Nov 21)

God Calls us to Be Courageous

Those who rebelled against God
in the days of the wilderness
wanderings were excluded from
His rest in the Promised Land.
However, for the people of God
today there exists an even better
rest than that – the one His Son
spoke about. Since the promise
of entering His rest still stands,
let’s enter and enjoy it.

Lord, we will Be Courageous:
We are God’s household, if we Keep
Up our Courage & remain confident
in our hope in Christ (Heb 3:6).
That is why today when you hear
the Spirit’s voice, Don’t Harden
Your hearts (Hebrews 3:7-8).
Lord, it is a calling for all of us
to see to it that none of us has
a sinful, Unbelieving heart that
turns from You the living God (v12).

Father, thank You for making
me a part of Your household.
Holy Spirit, fill me and renew
my confidence in Christ Jesus and
in His finished work on the cross.
Strengthen me to keep up courage,
empower me to believe Your Word,
to listen attentively to Your voice
and to remain confident because
my hope is in Christ. Amen.

Lord, You are constantly calling
us towards the place of fruitfulness
and fulfilment that You intend for us.
Yet we find it easy to ignore You or
push Your voice to back of our mind.
Forgive our negligence and
even our rebellious attitude.
Grant us Soft Heart to Listen to You.
And make us sensitive to everything
that You have to say. Amen.

Lord, let me be encouraged in Your
truth. Show me the ways that I can
be instrument of encouragement.
And keep me from any discouraging
actions or words to others each day.
Let me be sensitive to see where
those in my life are discouraged.
Encourage the hearts of my friends.
Encourage the hearts of loved ones.
Keep them from discouragement.
And keep discouraging people
far far away from them. Amen.

Trusting God In Hebrews 1&2

God Reveals His Truths (Nov 20)

God spoke in times past through
the prophets, but He has reserved
the declaration of His glory for
His Son. By His suffering & death,
Jesus He lifts mankind above
the angels into the family of God.
Because of His perfect humanity,
Jesus is uniquely qualified to serve
as High Priest for sinful mankind.
Moses was a servant in God’s
household, but Christ is the
divine Son over God’s household.
Joshua was Israel’s provider of
peace in the land of Canaan, but
Christ will bring His people into
the eternal resting place of heaven.

Lord, we will Listen to Your Truth:
In these final days, he has spoken
to us through his Son… through
whom also He made the world’s…
and upholding all things by the
word of His power, when He had
by Himself purged our sins (and)
sat down at the right hand of
the Majesty on high (Heb 1:2-3).
We must listen very carefully
to the truth we have heard,
or we may drift away from it…
how shall we escape if we neglect
so great a salvation (Heb 2:1-3)
You have made him a little lower
than the angels; You have crowned
him with glory and honour, and…
You have put all things in subjection
under his feet (Heb 2:7-8).

Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for
the book of Hebrews that shows
You are superior over everyone
and everything. Thank you for
all that You have done for us,
for Living in You Christ Jesus
is having the best there is in life.
Whilst we may face challenges,
thanks for we have direct access
to You, whereby we can approach
your throne with confidence. And
Help us Listen to Your Truth. Amen.

Lord, speak to me through the
pages of scripture each day and
Make them come alive in my heart.
Challenge me when I am drifting
away from You. Reveal Your
thoughts on the application of
Your Word to my circumstance.
And breathe the power of
Your Word deep into me.
In Jesus’ precious name, Amen.

Father God, since I have identified
with Your son Christ Jesus,
I have truly become one with Him.
So, I will not look to myself to
carry out my dominion in the earth,
but fix my thoughts on Jesus,
the High Priest of our confession.
It is He who takes my words before
the Father on my behalf, so that
I have the assurance that they will
accomplish the task and achieve the
purpose for which I see them. Amen.
