Seeking God In Rev 22 (Dec 31)

Prepare for the Lord’s Return

Following judgments of the 7 vials,
John sees the doom of Babylon.
And a great multitude sings praises
ahead of the marriage of the Lamb.
A white horse emerges, mounted
by the King of Kings who destroys
the beast and the false prophet…
setting the stage for a new heaven
and new earth, where God and His
people live in intimate fellowship.

Lord, we’ll Prepare for Your Return:
I Jesus, have sent My angel
to testify to you these things
in the churches. I am the Root
and the Offspring of David,
the Bright and Morning Star.
And the Spirit and the bride say:
Come! And let him who hears say
Come! And let him who thirsts come.
Whoever desires, let him take the
water of life freely (Rev 22:16-17).
He who testifies to these things
says: “Surely I am coming quickly.”
Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ
be with you all. Amen. (v20-21).

Lord Jesus, You are coming soon
and until then Your grace be with
Your people. Help me Lord to be
confident in the reality of heaven.
One day I will be with my loved ones
and we will enjoy You together
for all eternity. Until then, help me
to allow You Lord to live through me
so that I may be more like You,
be faithful in sharing the gospel and
to make disciples for Yr glory. Amen

Father God, we are prone to forget
Your goodness and care for us.
We purpose to trust You today
and into the new year; whatever
the challenges that we may face.
For You are the God we can trust.
Thank You Lord for Your Word
that will help us to stay focused.
Lead us to find delight in Your love
and share it with others. Amen.

Lord, we enter the new year
with this simple and earnest prayer.
Please heal the broken people;
Make well those who are sick;
Restore gladness to those in despair.
Bring love to the lonely,
food to the hungry and
peace to our world.
In Jesus’ precious name, amen.

Happy New Year  Everyone !!!

Seeking God In Rev 21 (Dec 30)

All Things Will Be Made New !!

Following judgments of the 7 vials,
John sees the doom of Babylon.
And a great multitude sings praises
ahead of the marriage of the Lamb.
A white horse emerges, mounted
by the King of Kings who destroys
the beast and the false prophet…
setting the stage for a new heaven
and new earth, where God and His
people live in intimate fellowship.

Lord, You will Restore All Things:
I saw a new heaven & a new earth…
I saw New Jerusalem (Rev 21:1-2).
And I heard a loud voice from the
throne saying: Look God’s dwelling
place is now among the people,
and He Will Dwell with them…
And God will wipe every tear
from their eyes. There will be no
more death or mourning or pain…
… I am making everything New!
… these words are trustworthy
and true (Rev 21:3-5). And…
the glory of God illuminates the city
and… the nations of the earth will
Walk in its Light (v23-24). Amen.

Father, when I am sad, keep me
from despair; and remind me that
Christ has defeated sin and death.
Grateful Lord that the day is
coming when the world will be
put right and all sorrow will cease.
Thanks for the promise of making
everything new and of making
heaven a place of infinite joy for us.
Praise Yr mighty & holy name. Amen

Lord, help us to see not just the
present challenges, but also the
future that You have planned for us.
Flood our minds and hearts with
Your light; grant us wisdom and help
us find the way out of dark places.
Illuminate Your Word and assure
us that a wonderful future awaits.
Help us to take the long-term view;
and keep us from impatience and
faithlessness. In Jesus’ name, Amen

Lord, Thanks for illuminating Your
Word, taught me & comforted me.
Even as Your light has changed
my life, grant me wisdom and help
me find my way out of dark places.
Look forward to the day when we
can walk in a city where the Lamb
is the light. And look forward to
see that light fully and to bask
in the light of Your glory. Amen.

Seeking God In Rev 15-19 (Dec 29)

Trust Lord God Almighty In Control

Then seven angels emerge with
the seven last plagues, which
involve boils, blood, scorching
heat, darkness, pain, earthquakes,
hailstones & titanic confrontation
at a place called Armageddon.
Then John sees doom of Babylon
and a great multitude in heaven
sings praises to God in anticipation
of the marriage supper of the Lamb.
A white horse emerges, mounted
by the King of kings who destroys
the beast and the false prophets.

Lord, You are Great & In Control:
And I saw… those who have the
victory over the beast..They sing the
song of Moses & song of the Lamb:
Great & marvellous are Your actions,
Lord God Almighty. Just and true
are Your ways, O King of the nations.
Who will not fear & Glorify Yr name?
For You alone are holy. All nations
will worship You for Your righteous
deeds hv been revealed(Rev 15:2-4)
Many will make war agst the Lamb
but the Lamb will overcome them
all because He is the Lord of lords
and the King of kings (Rev 17:14).
Let us rejoice and be glad and give
Him glory! For the wedding of the
Lamb has come and His bride has
made herself ready… Blessed are
those who are called to the marriage
supper of the Lamb (Rev 19:7-9).

Lord, this song sang by Moses as
the Israelites celebrated deliverance
from Egypt and will be sung at the
end-time when the redeemed of the
Lord gather after victory over evil.
Help us realize You are in control
even in the midst of challenges.
And praise You for the marvellous
deeds You be executing to bring
about Your purposes on earth. Amen

Lord, the end times is a warning to
Christians who have grown apathetic
and an encouragement to those
who faithfully endure life’s struggles.
It reassures good will triumph over
evil, gives hope as we face trials and
emboldens when we waver in faith.
Lord, our prayers rise up to You;
and we will Overcome with You; for
You’re King of kings & Lord of lords.
In Jesus’ mighty name we pray.

Lord, we praise and thank You for
You have promised that our future
is good to be with You in heaven.
We praise You for future redemption
of the world & all things in our lives.
You alone are holy and worthy to
receive adoration, glory and honour.
May the things that distract us and
the excuses for not abiding in You
fade in the light of Your glory. Amen

Seeking God In Rev 8-12 (Dec 28)

Hope in the Midst of Gloom

The seventh seal is then broken,
revealing seven Trumpets.
As each is sounded in turn,
natural and heavenly disasters
once again result: hail, fire, falling
stars, death, darkness, torment-
plagues which cause people to
seek death but not find it…Then
Seven angels emerge with the
seven last plagues, which involve
boils, blood, scorching heat,
darkness, pain, earthquakes,
hailstones & titanic confrontation
at a place called Armageddon.

Lord, our prayers rise up to You:
He was given much incense,
that he should offer it with
the prayers of all the saints…
And the smoke of the incense,
together with the prayers of
the saints, went up before God
from the angel’s hand (Rev 8:3-4).
Then the seventh angel sounded:
And there were loud voices in
heaven saying: The world now
become the Kingdom of our Lord
and of His Christ, and He will
reign forever and ever (Rev 11:15).
They have defeated (the accuser)
by the blood of the Lamb and
by their testimony (Rev 12:11).

Lord, the revelation on end times
is both a warning to Christians
who have grown apathetic and
an encouragement to those who
are faithfully enduring struggles.
It reassures us good will triumph
over evil, give us hope as we face
difficult times and gives guidance
when we are wavering in our faith.
Lord, our prayers rise up to You; and
we will Overcome with You. Amen.

Lord, our prayers will rise to You
in heaven and how grateful that
You will eagerly hear each one.
Even the quietest prayers born
out of faith are as important as the loudest prayers ignited by fervency.
Thank You Lord and grateful that
You will hear and answer them all.
How blessed are we to have You
as the center of our lives. Amen.

Lord, we will Overcome with You
for the accuser has already been defeated by the blood of the Lamb.
Lord, we praise You for You are
In control and we surrender to
Your ways and to Your timing.
And we rest all our expectations
on You at Your Word of promise;
for You are utterly Faithful. Amen.

Seeking God In Rev 4/5 (Dec 27)

Worship God for He’s Worthy

John describes visions depicting
activities in heaven and on earth.
God enthroned, holds a scroll
which is sealed with seven seals.
No one is found worthy to break
the seals and reveal the contents
of the scroll except Lion of Judah.
As the first six seals are broken,
calamities break forth upon the
earth involving warfare, famine,
death, earthquakes and heavenly
disturbances. The day of his wrath is
come & who shall be able to stand?

Lord, we will Bow Down In Worship:
The four living creatures…(say)
Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty,
Who was and is and is to come!…
The 24 elders fall down and worship
the one who lives forever and ever.
And they lay their crowns before
the throne and say: You are worthy,
O Lord our God, to receive glory and
honor… For You created everything,
and it is for Your pleasure that they
exist & were created (Rev 4:8-11).
Now when He had taken the scroll…
the 24 elders fell down before the
Lamb… And they sang a new song:
You are worthy to take the scroll,
and to open its seals; For You were
slain, and have redeemed us to God
by Your blood… And have made us
kings…to our God & we shall reign…
Then I heard the voice of… angels…
Worthy is the Lamb who was slain to
receive…honor & glory (Rev 5:8-12)

Lord, Thanks for revealing Your
glory being celebrated in heaven.
You are worthy; for it is for You and
because of You that all things exist.
Reveal glimpses of Your majesty to
us so that Your glory is our focus.
Draw us Lord into worship; and
we lay down our crowns before You,
all that we have done and all that
we are, we lay before You. Amen.

Lord, Your Word says we are
royal priesthood, with authority to
implement Your mission in this age.
Increase our Faith Lord that we
are inhabited by the God of the
universe and carry Your presence.
Lord, it is difficult to fathom how
we can reign with You in actuality.
Show us how as we want to walk
in the authority that You offer. Amen.

Father God, You are truly worthy;
and we join the host of heaven
in proclaiming that You are holy.
We praise You for Your Goodness
and You’re worthy of our devotion.
As we draw to You, deliver us from
coldness of heart & wandering mind.
Grant us wholehearted affection
and steadfast thoughts that we may
fully worship You in spirit & in truth,
for You Are Worthy Of It All. Amen.

Seeking God In Rev 2-3 (Dec 26)

Christ Draws You to First Love

John writes to the seven churches
in Asia Minor to address their
scriptural need. Each message
begins with the expression:
I know thy works; each contains
a promise: to him that overcometh;
each concludes with the warning:
He that hath ear, let him hear what
the Spirit says to the churches.
In short, John sends words of
reproof and reassurance from
Jesus Christ, the Alpha & Omega.

Lord, we’ll Return to First Love:
To the… church of Ephesus…
I have seen your hard work and
your patient endurance… But
I have this complaint against you.
You don’t love Me… as you did
at first! Look how far you have fallen
from your first love! Turn back to Me
again as you did at first (Rev 2:1-5).
To the church in Sardis, Be watchful.
Remember how you have received
and heard, hold fast and repent…
I will never erase their names
from the Book of Life, but I will
announce before My Father…
that they are mine (Rev 3:1-5).
To the church of the Laodiceans…
As many as I love, I… chasten.
Therefore be zealous and repent.
Behold I stand at the door & knock.
If anyone hears My voice and opens
the door I’ll come in to him(v14-20)

Lord, I confess been doing a lot
for You; but have somewhat ease
the simple devotion of loving You.
Grateful Lord You’re ever calling me
back to deep intimacy with You; with
Your arms open wide to receive me.
Help me to once again abandon
myself to You, to experience Your
unfailing love for me, and to live in
pure devotion to Your heart. Amen.

Lord Jesus, we will speak of
Your friendship and love for us
and You intend to bless us
beyond anything we can imagine.
Help us never stop doing good;
stay to fight the good fight and
don’t give up no matter what.
For we are Yours Lord and we will
serve You out of gratitude for all
that You had done for us. Amen.

Lord, we will Draw Near to You;
for You are always near and
always desirous of our attention.
Forgive me for the times I ignore
or push You to the edges of my life;
for You deserve the central place.
Whenever I hear You calling and
knocking, help me to open myself
to You so that we can enjoy intimacy
together. Draw me Close to U. Amen

Thought for the Week: 1 John 1

Prayer to Walk in the Light

Apostle John who enjoys delightful
fellowship with God, desires that
his spiritual children enjoy the same
fellowship & writes to tell them how.
God is Light and to be in fellowship
with Him means walking in
the light of His commandments.
God is love, and thus His children
must walk in love. And God is life,
and those who desire fellowship
with Him must possess spiritual
life, which begins with spiritual
birth through faith in Jesus Christ.

Lord, our hope is in the Word of Life:
That which was from the beginning,
which we have heard, which
we have seen with our own eyes,
concerning the Word of Life…
This is the message which we
have heard from Him and declare
to you, that God is light and in Him
is no darkness at all (1 Jn 1:1, 5).
If we walk in the light as He is in the
light, we have fellowship with one
another & the blood of Jesus Christ
Cleases us from all sin (1 John 1:7).
If we claim to be without sin,
we deceive ourselves and the truth
is not in us. If we Confess our sins,
He is faithful and just & will forgive
us our sins and purify us from
all unrighteousness (1 John 1:8-9).

Lord, Thank You for Your Word that
says You are the Word of life and
You are our solid rock, no matter
whatever circumstances around us.
You are always with us and we are
safe and secure under Your arms.
Lord, You are our all in all, our hope
is in You alone and we rest on You.
Support us Lord in challenges for
we look to You our solid rock. Amen.

Lord, You say if we claim to be
sinless we’re only fooling ourselves;
for our old nature is still within us.
Give me an attitude of discernment
and humility, so that when I sin I will
know it & desire to be cleansed of it.
Grateful Lord for Your forgiveness
which removes sins as far as the
east is from the west and that You
remember them no more. Amen.

Lord, I Confess my sins before You;
grateful that You are faithful
to forgive them and to cleanse
me from all the effects of them.
If there is sin in my life that I am
not seeing, reveal it to me so that
I can confess it before You and
be purified of all unrighteousness.
For I want to live in the wholeness
of complete forgiveness. Amen.

Reflection on 1/2 Peter & 1 John

Seeking God thru Biblical Prayers

The purpose of 1st & 2nd Peter is to
encourage suffering Christians, and
to exhort them to grow in knowledge
of Christ; whilst for 1st John is to
reassure Christians in their faith.
On Monday, we learn from 1Pet 1 on
Prayer of Gratitude for Inheritance.
On Tuesday, we learn from 1Pet 4
to be Good & Watchful stewards.
On Wednesday, we learn fr 2Pet 1
on Prayer to Enable Godly Living.
On Thursday, we learn from 1Jn 1
on Prayer to Walk in the Light.
On Friday, we learn from 1Jn 2 on Prayer as Confession to Advocate.
On Saturday, we learn from 1Jn 5
on Having Confidence In Prayer.
Let us humble ourselves and pray
and seek His face. Help us O God
be Christ’s disciples who purpose
to be both watchful and prayerful;
to be godly walking in the light;
to draw to You and fully trust You;
for You are holy, caring & love us.
In Jesus’ precious name, Amen.

Seeking God In 1John 5 (Dec 24)

Having Confidence In Prayer

Apostle John desires his spiritual
children enjoy close fellowship
with God and writes telling them
how: God is Light and to engage in
fellowship with Him means walking
in the light of His commandments.
God is Love, and thus His children
must walk in love. God is Life, and
those who desire fellowship with
Him must possess the spiritual life,
which begins with spiritual birth.

Lord, we will Ask Along Your Will:
He who has the Son has life…
These things I have written to you
who believe in the name of the Son
of God, that you may Know that you
have eternal life, and that you may
continue to believe (1Jn 5:12-13).
This is the Confidence we have
in approaching God; that if we
ask anything according to His will,
He hears us. And if we Know that
He hears us – whatever we ask
– we Know that we have what
we asked of Him (1Jn 5:14-15).
We know that God’s children do not
make a practice of sinning, for God’s
Son Holds them securely, and the
evil one cannot touch them (v18).

Father, thanks for promising eternal
life to those who believe in Your Son.
Apostle John wrote these words
so that we could know that
we have eternal life – not hope
that we have it, but Know It.
We can trust Your solid promise of
an abundant life that begins now.
And we look forward to being with
You forever. In His name, Amen.

Father, it gives me Confidence
to know that if I ask according
to Your will, You will hear me
and I will have what I ask for.
So I come to You as Your beloved
child and ask You to help me pray
according to Your will. And I know
I will receive good things from You
because You love me. In His name.

Lord, we experience difficulties as
everyone else and Christians may be
targeted because they are believers.
And it is a relief that You are Lord
over the evil one. All who belong
to You are eternally safe; and all who
opposed U are completely defeated.
For You had purchased us with
Your blood, You take us to Yourself,
and You’ll Hold us securely. Amen.

Seeking God In 1John 2 (Dec 23)

Prayer as Confession to Advocate

Apostle John who enjoys delightful
fellowship with God, desires that
his spiritual children enjoy the same
fellowship & writes to tell them how.
God is Light and to be in fellowship
with Him means walking in
the light of His commandments.
God is love, and thus His children
must walk in love. And God is life,
and those who desire fellowship
with Him must possess spiritual
life, which begins with spiritual
birth through faith in Jesus Christ.

Lord, we’ll Love You & One Another:
These things I write to you, so that
you may not sin. And if anyone sins,
we have an Advocate with the Father
Jesus Christ the righteous. And
He Himself is the propitiation for
our sins, and not for ours only but
also for the whole world (1Jn 2:1-2)
Those who Obey God’s word truly
show how completely they love Him.
That’s how we know we live in Him.
Those who say they live in God
should live their lives as Christ did…
(And His) commandment (is)
to Love one another (1Jn 2:5-7).
Do not love this world nor the things
it offers you, for when you love
the world, you do not have the love
of the Father in you (1 John 2:15).

Father, reveal to me any areas of
unconfessed sin; and also reveal
to me any areas of unknown sin.
Draw me through Your grace;
and replace my waywardness
with the fruit of Your Spirit.
Thank You Lord for providing
Jesus Christ as my Advocate
with You. In His holy name, Amen.

Lord Jesus, we confess not being
consistent in doing what You say.
Although You understand our falling,
we don’t want neglect trying to
obey for that will be hypocritical.
We don’t want to be a liar nor
not living in the truth. Help us Lord
to saturate ourselves in Your Words
and purpose in our hearts to obey
as our gratitude and love to You.
And help us love one another. Amen.

Holy Spirit, we need wisdom and
help in this battle against the world.
Help us recognise the world seeks
to shape and satisfy cravings that
only You God can truly satisfy.
This lifelong battle with worldliness
can’t be won by personal willpower.
Help us replace love for the world
with a love that won’t disappoint.
In Jesus’ precious name, Amen.
